Singapore, 6 October 2026
Signify Singapore Pte Ltd (“Signify”), the world leader in lighting systems, services and solutions, and Faraday Energy Pte Ltd (“Faraday”), a fully-owned platform of Seraya Partners (“Seraya”) and provider of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (“IaaS”) solutions, today announced their partnership to jointly pursue Light-as-a-Service (“LaaS”) and IaaS in the Asia Pacific region.
The LaaS commercial model enables end-users to upgrade or retrofit their lighting systems without incurring upfront CapEx for the purchase of equipment. Instead, they pay a fixed monthly service fee that covers the lighting infrastructure and associated services over the contract term, which could range from 5 to 10 years.
The partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Signify and Faraday on 18 September 2026, by Jitender Khurana, CEO, Professional Business Southeast Asia and Far East, Signify and Peter Goh, CEO, Faraday Energy, and witnessed by senior business leaders from both companies.
Under the partnership, Signify will contribute its lighting technology, connected systems, application expertise and digital capabilities, including solutions supported by the Interact platform. Faraday will lead the development of the IaaS/LaaS commercial model, including project evaluation, commercial structuring, long-term financing and asset ownership.
The companies will work together to identify customer opportunities, develop fit-for-purpose technical and commercial solutions, coordinate project implementation and support the ongoing performance of the installed infrastructure. The initial focus will be on buildings and data centres across Asia Pacific, with solutions spanning intelligent connected lighting, smart-building technologies and sustainable infrastructure modernisation.
The partnership is being established at a time when building owners and data centre operators are seeking to reduce energy consumption, improve operational visibility and modernise ageing infrastructure, while preserving capital for their core businesses. Lighting represents a practical starting point because upgrades can be deployed across existing facilities with comparatively limited operational disruption, while connected systems can provide greater control, monitoring and data-driven management.
By combining technology, project expertise and long-term capital, Signify and Faraday aim to help customers act on these requirements without waiting for conventional capital budget cycles.
“For most building owners, lighting is one of the quickest and lowest-risk places to start decarbonizing, yet upfront capital is often what holds projects back,” said Mr Jitender Khurana, CEO, Professional Business, Southeast Asia and Far East, Signify. “By combining Signify’s connected lighting and Interact platform with Faraday’s long-term infrastructure capital, customers in buildings and data centres can modernize their lighting, pay for the outcome rather than the hardware, and start saving energy from day one. We see this partnership as a practical way to help our customers and the region to accelerate its sustainability goals.”
“Signify is the world leader in lighting”, said Mr Peter Goh, CEO, Faraday Energy, “and constantly innovating to provide smarter and more energy efficient illumination. This partnership combines our capital and Signify’s technology to bring true value-add to end-users.”
“Many customers recognise the need to replace ageing, inefficient infrastructure, but competing capital priorities can delay implementation,” said Mr James Chern, Managing Partner & Chief Investment Officer of Seraya Partners. “The partnership between Signify and Faraday is closely aligned with Seraya’s strategy of building scalable infrastructure platforms that deliver operational value and measurable sustainability outcomes.”
Building owners, data centre operators and organisations considering lighting or wider infrastructure upgrades are invited to contact Faraday and Signify to explore how the companies’ combined offering could support their operational and sustainability objectives.
